i LOVE the chair also- how creative! i could also see doing that with the front of a frame or a wooden storage box (wheels are turning). thanks for posting; i'll have to check out the newest bh&g issue.

Lets see, I'm about to redo a chair myself.

Chair: $10 (Goodwill)
Zebra Upholstery Fabric for seat: $10 (Hobby Lobby on sale)
Liquid sandpaper, chemical resistant gloves, Black paint and lacquer: $20 (Home Depot)

We'll see how it turns out! I'm hoping to phase out the wood in my living room and go with black so this is the start.

I LOVE that chair. I will be looking for a chair so I can do that project. It is the coolest. Thanks for this post!

Hi! Love your blog. I found it this afternoon while googling the current issue of bhg 100 decorating ideas. I too LOVE that chair and it inspired me to transform a table--here's the link:

Could you tell me the fabric that was used on the window shade? It's listed as yours in the magazine. Thanks for your help!

Can anyone tell me where the desk & hutch pictured above (page 70 of Spring 2009 issue) can be found? Thank You.
