Laura Gunn's Lantern Bloom fabric collection just arrived from Michael Miller fabrics. She is a painter by trade and this fabric captures the texture and variegations of her art. The fabric uses very rich colors and actually shows the layering of color that was used in the original painting. Very cool and sophisticated looking.
Kathy Miller's blog, Making it Fun, shows great pictures of her debut at Quilt Market including lots of goods made out of the fabric. Visit Laura's blog, too, where she shows a lot of her paintings.
Oh, and Laura kindly sent me these fat quarter samples from her fabric collection last month, so how about I share the love? Leave a comment (make it meaningful- you can do better than just a "hello"!) by Tuesday at midnight and I'll draw one name to receive this stack. If you consider it a plus, they have been lovingly handled by me several times as I have admired them.

I just ADORE this fabric. I love the modern color palette it offers while still having great "painterly" details. Oh, how I crave the fat quarters!

I can picture those fat quarters, and that fabric, being made into some lovely throw pillows for my sofa. So beautiful and elegant. And to have been designed by Laura and stroked lovingly by you...Priceless!

I love the way the fabrics look hand painted.

This is by far one of the most unique set of fabrics I have ever seen! The color palette is gorgeous and like you say, the way the colors appear to be layered on is beautiful. I think I could just frame the fat quaters and be happy!!!

I love your store AND your blog! I especially appreciate all of your how-to's ... I've even appliqued some letters on some projects thanks to your tutorial and stencils. So thanks! And thanks for hosting this giveaway, too ... this new collection looks great.

Those are lovely. I have tons of projects that would be perfect for them. Right now I am in the midst of making market bags and wallets...

it always amazes me how designers keep coming up with new and fresh fabric lines. I have been loving Laura's fabric since the first time I saw it!!! i just came back from a visit with my little sister and her living room/kitchen is all done in teal/brown/green/orange. i would love to make something up for her with Laura's fabric...most likely a quilt.

I love these prints! This is the first I have seen of them and the soft lines are gorgeous. It is like seeing the brush strokes on a painting.

OMG!! I just found this line of fabrics yesterday and by golly I have to have every.single.one!! I have never wanted a fabric so bad as this let alone the entire line. She is such a FANTASTIC artist. I can wait to own some of her artwork for all time in the form of this fabric!

I follow her blog and drool over her creativity and artistic ability. I want to live in her house, or just copy my own to look like it.

You could totally frame her fabric...it's such a work of art. Love the colors - coral and turquoise are my fav!

I've loved Lantern Bloom since I first laid eyes on it. Alas I'm only buying fabric for a good friend's chuppah (wedding canopy) right now, so I haven't been able to see, smell, or touch the beautiful lantern bloom. I sure would like to, however! The aqua and red one looks to be my favorite, but all that could change in person!

Gorgeous!!!

Wow, awesome fabric AND your fingerprints. What a deal.
But here's the question, do they create digital art from her paintings before they make the fabric? To capture all of her layers seems impossible. I'm impressed!

I am seriously loving all the new fabrics and fantastic designers coming out. I mean, SERIOUSLY, who would have thunk to put fantastic paintings onto fabrics (quilting fabric at that) pass it along and call it a day. Lovin it.

Ooh Ooh. Meaningful, eh? Well, I'll just say that your blog and website inspire me. I'm a newbie to sewing and crafting and I use your blog/shop as a launching pad so often. Thank you! ;)
